The Pacific Ocean and Beaches
Playa Manzanillo is approximately 100 feet from the NW corner of the property along the beach path. There is surfing, fishing, snorkeling (on calm days), boogie/body boarding, swimming, tide pools for exploring, and bird watching nearby. The ocean sports are endless. Here are just a few examples.
Guided Surf Trips
Guided surf trips to the Ranch and La Saladita can be arranged on a per person basis once you arrive at the Club. The boat drops you off at the Ranch first and heads to La Saladita on the way home in time for lunch and siesta!
Fishing
You can surf fish right off the rocks at the point or if you have bigger fish to fry we can arrange a fishing with El Capitan Guzman in Zihuatenejo. His boat is modest and so are his prices. He goes for marlin and tuna. Bring sun screen, sun gear, and food. He has all of the rest. Let us know if you need arrangements with the El Capitan!
Snorkeling
On calm days when the surf isn't breaking you can snorkel in 6-10 feet of water and see a lot of sea life on the Point. New snorkel gear for children and adults can be rented for $10.00/day with a $40.00 USD or 400 peso deposit
Boogey/Body Boarding
We have found the best boogey boarding right in front of the Hacienda Eden on Manzanillo Bay or for the more experienced body boarders, the Point can cook!
Mountain Biking
There are a number of less traveled dirt roads that are easily accessible from the Club. The best roads are to the north and can take you from village to village along the coast. The road to the south will take you through Troncones pueblo and depending on the season, will take you across the estuary along the beach to the village of Buena Vista and points further south. There are mountain bike rentals in Troncones pueblo and at Hacienda Eden.
Bird Watching
About three miles to the north along the beach, there is the beautiful Boca Lagunillas lagoon, a great place to bird watch in a tropical setting.
Cultural Points of Interests
Within a short three-hour drive you can find yourself in the mountain town of Patzcuaro, known for textiles, copper, and hand-crafted furniture. Beyond Patzcuaro, San Miguel de Allende is a seven-hour road trip. Mexico's silver capital, Taxco is east of Acapulco and approximately a seven-hour trip. All places are worth a visit!
